Mill Hill Club
Back in the 1980s and 1990s the Mill Hill Club was a popular place to go for the hottest dances and nightlife entertainment.
Here???s a clip of the Mill Hill Club from the 1990s during its peak period.
Gone but Not Forgotten
The Mill Hill Club Building was torn down in 2014 to make room for an Assisted Living Facility

Pufferbellies Nightclub Radio Commercial from 1988
As the summer of 2018 starts to whine down, I thought it would be good to look back to the summer of 1988.
Pufferbellies Nightclub was one of the popular Nightclubs on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It was the place to go for some fun after a day at the beach. Here's an radio advertising that played on Cape 104 during July 1988:
Pufferbellies Nightclub Today
In 2015, the Pufferbellies Nighclub complex was sold to Hy-Line. They plan to use the property for off-site parking for future ferry goers.
Pufferbellies was located at 183 Iyannough Rd, Hyannis - next door to the former Christmas Tree Shops that was on the railroad tracks on 28.
PermalinkCape Cod Traffic Report
Listen to the traffic on a July weekend in 2002 and 2004
Traditional the Memorial Day weekend kicks off the Cape Cod summer fun. Plenty of New England residents will be making the long drive to Cape Cod over the long weekend.
Back in the 1990s, there were a couple of radio stations that were rocking the beaches of Cape Cod - WKPE (Cape 104) and WQRC.
2002 and 2004 Cape Cod Traffic Report
Here???s the July 4th Day Traffic Report from 2002 and 2004. It???s a snapshot of how long it took trying to get off the Cape after a fun weekend.
PermalinkTurtle Mania Song
Classic Cayman Island Song
Back in the 1980's we visited the Cayman Islands for a wonderful family vacation. On that trip, I purchased a record album that contains a couple of songs. One of those songs was a catchy song that I heard being played around the Cayman Islands - Turtle Mania.
A few weeks after the trip I bought the album to WIQH, the Concord-Carlisle High School radio station. I wanted them to play the song over the air. I left the record in the mailbox slot and never saw it again.
Fortunately I did tape the album before dropping off the album at WIQH. Here's part of the song, I don't know who the artist is - so I can't give full credit.
If you know who sings this song, let me know.
PermalinkJerry William Impersonation
Bostonians that listened to AM talk radio in the 80s and 90s probably hear Jerry Williams at one time or another.
Jerry Williams was the Dean of talk radio. He always complained about something. He always would complain about Mike Dukakis, The Big Dig and other local Boston issues.
Sadly Jerry Williams passed away in 2004.
Jerry William Impersonation
This is a clip from the late 1990s where Jim Flaherty did a great Jerry Williams impression. It's a great spoof on how Jerry use to be annoyed at just about everything.
PermalinkNew England Telephone Commercial
Anyone that grew up in New England in the 70s and 80s will remember the classic New England Telephone commercials.
They would run commercials to encourage people to use the phone as a source of communication.
This is an example of a commercial that ran in the late 1080s:
We're the one for you New England, New England Telephone - Part of the NYNEX family.
PermalinkJohnny Most's Dream Game
The DREAM GAME was a five-minute "words eye view" audio cassette personally announced for you by Johnny Most and Glenn Ordway. You are playing for the Boston Celtics in the seventh game of the NBA world championship series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Listen to part of the clip that was made especially for me:
Real Audio Replay
For years I had the full clip on my Real Audio Sounds page. Since the 'Real Audio' platform isn't in use much, I am in the process of converting many of the once popular clips to SoundCloud format.
The manufactor, Sports Fantasies Inc, no longer makes any personal radio broadcast.
PermalinkReal Cost of Going Viral
Back in 2004, before YouTube was the source of Internet Videos. I had a clip of Joe Montana being interviewed by Suzy Kolber. This went on to be called the Joe Namath Kiss episode or I want to Kiss You interview.
Watch it Again for the First Time
Here's a copy of the original Quicktime video from 2004:
Somehow people found my clip and it spread like wildfire. Apparently, it was one of a few places on the internet where you could watch the entire interview.
My traffic stats had never been so high
Yup, by posting that video, my usual hosting fee went from $20.92 to $202.79!
Thankfully I worked out a deal with my hosting provider and I didnt have to pay that much. I upgraded to a higher plan and kept it there for about 5 months until the traffic died down.
I kept the video on the site for a few years. I finally took it down last year when there was very little traffic going to the Quicktime pages. I used HTML 5 Video to display the video on the page, and thanks to online-convert.com, I was able to convert the original video clip to OGG format so that it can play on all devices.
YouTube launched a year later on February 14, 2005. The founders said that the Internet needed a better way to find videos online.
I guess I should have seen the business opportunity. If you like the above video, let me know. I have a lot of videos in my library that I can put back on my website.
PermalinkConcord Police Reverse 911
This audio clip is from 2003. It demonstrates how the Concord police stays ahead of criminal activity.
Listen to what the residents of Concord, Massachusetts heard in early September 2003:
There was no follow up in the local newspaper on if the people were caught.
PermalinkiMovie Swoosh Video Overlay
I created four-wave or swoosh graphics that can add a nice touch to any iMovie videos. These are all available in the 1920 x 1080 format.
In this package are the following graphics:
- Black Gradient
- Red Gradient
- White Gradient
- Blue
These are perfect if you're looking for a lower third graphic. You can simply use these and add text in front of the images.
iMovie Integration Instructions
Easy steps to apply to any iMovie project:
- From any iMovie Project, drag and drop the Swish onto the location of the track that you wish to use.
- Select the dragged image and in the Video Overlay settings, make sure that cutaway is selected.
- You can stretch out the image to last as long as you wish.
- Then add the text track over the Video Overlay.
