Computer Desktop Backgrounds

The following are desktop background that you will commonly see on my Macintosh Powerbook G4. I took all the photos that are featured on this page and on the Powerbook Wallpaper Desktop page.

You can find these and other desktop photos in my Powerbook Wallpaper section. Which will work for any computer with a 1024 x 768 resolution.

San Francisco
San Francisco Bay - December 5, 2001

This San Francisco desktop background is the most popular wallpaper on my computer, and I have used it as my default wallpaper on 3 different laptops. This photo was taken after a morning storm passed by San Francisco. This was taken at the top of the hill at the Marin Headlands.

The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. There are many landmarks in the Bay Area such as Alcatraz Island, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Warf, Post Card Row (Alamo Square), China Town and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Downtown Concord
Concord Massachusetts - July 12,2002

This is a great photo of downtown Concord Massachusetts. This was taken on the corner of Main Street and Walden Street, just in front of the Concord Toy Shop.

Historic Downtown Concord Massachusetts is where you can find some wonderful shops such as the Concord Hand Design, Concord Cheese Shop, Concord Kitchen Shop, Toy Store and so much more. The zoning rules in Concord has strict regulation on changing the structure of any buildings, as a result the downtown area hasn't changed much over the past 100 years!

Sonora California
A trail on the Upper Natural Bridge in Vallecito, California - March 30, 2002

I took this photo on the way to the Natural Bridge, the upper part of the photo is where visitors park.

Vallecito, CA has several major attractions near by - Moaning Caverns, Columbia State Park and plenty of historic sites in Gold Country. If you ever plan to visit this area I highly recommend staying at the National Motel in Jamestown, California. Be sure to stay in Room 6!

Cape Cod backyard
Orleans Massachusetts - September 5, 2005

This is a photo of a backyard in Orleans, Massachusetts during the mid-afternoon on a beautiful summer day.

Meeting House Pond is a well protected salt water pond that many local Orleans residents dock their boats. This photo also shows some of the town landing called Packet Landing, which is a historic site, a marker at the site reads:

Historical Marker: Ancient "Pochet Pond". Packet Landing; Passengers and Freight to and from New York City. Father of John Howard Payne (1792-1852) Author, "Home Sweet Home", migrated from here to New York where John was born.

Washington Monument
Washington Monumnent - February 8, 2006

A tricky photo of the Washington Monumnet. This was taken using my laptop bag as a tripod, and setting a photo-delay to avoid a camera shake.

The Washington Monument is one of the most recognizable monuments in Washington DC. Last April the monument open up for the first time since September 11, 2001. Earlier this year the monument grounds reopen so people can walk around the grounds.

Haunted Mansion
Walt Disney World Haunted Mansion - March 6th, 2006

This is great night shot of the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World. This was taken just before dusk on March 6th, 2006. This is a tricky shot and requires the right focusing and very steady hands!

One of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World, the Haunted Mansion is a fun ride and offers users a great time. The ride has a lot of special effects and plenty of surprises. The more you know about the Haunted Mansion, the more that you will want to go on the ride.

Fenway Park
Fenway Park, Boston Massachusetts - April 19, 2006

Jason Veritek gets ready for a pitch at Fenway Park. Red Sox won the game 9-1 against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. This was taken in Section 24, Field Box 51.

Fenway Park is the smallest park in Major League Baseball. Seats average $20 - $100, and are very hard to get since every game has sold out since 2003. A Fenway Frank cost $4.The parking lot across the street cost $30. The cheapest way to get to Fenway is to park at a Green Line station, and take the 'T' in.
