Name:18TH AIRBORNE
Status:Gulf War Veteran
Date:April 26 2003
Comments:AS A EMPLOYEE OF THE VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER IN OKLAHOMA, I GET TO SEE THE SECOND BATTLE THAT ALL VETERANS FROM DESERT STORM GET TO FIGHT, THE EMOTIONAL SCARS, RASHES, HEADACHES, PTSD, AND THEN TO TOP IT OFF, WE GET TREATED BY DOCTERS AND NURSES WHO ARE 2ND,3RD,4TH, AND 5TH RATE. NONE OF THEM VETERANS! NONE OF THEM SERVED IN THE WAR! THEY TELL US TO SHOW THEM PROOF THAT OUR AILMENTS WERE CAUSED OR WORSENED BY OUR DUTY IN THE GULF. THE GOVERNMENT HAS DONE US A GRAVE INJUSTICE. WE WERE PROMISED HEALTH CARE FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES WHEN WE TOOK THE OATH TO SERVE, AND I HAVENT SEEN IT! WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN BEFORE WE WORRY ABOUT REBUILDING SOMEBODY ELSES GOVERNMENT. IF YOU WANT TO SEND US TO FIGHT YOUR BATTLES TAKE CARE OF US WHEN WE COME HOME.
