Fall Season in New England
Well the colors of fall is finally here! The next few days are the best times to be in Massachusetts! I just spent 2 hours in Stow and Acton looking for all the bright color trees, and there's a lot to select from. Tomorrow, I'll be checking the colors at the Old North Bridge and downtown Concord.

The picture on the right was taken at the Stow Airport. They even have a better view of the falls colors around the airport. I discovered the nice selection of colors last year when looking for photo spots. Today was the perfect photo opportunity because of the bright blue sky and the bright colors on the trees.

First Frost
Arena farms has plenty of pumpkins in the early part of October. They are even selling 190+ pound pumpkins at a $1 a pound!

Last night it was nearly freezing, however most of MetroWest has not received the first frost. This is expect to happen in the next couple of days. The only good thing about a frost is that there are no more bugs!

On October 1st Cambridge and Somerville joined 91 communities in Massachusetts to ban smoking in bars and resturants. Sate Legislators are exploring a possible statewide smoking ban.

Tonight is Game 5 of the ALCS game in Oakland. Will the red hot Red Sox continue their winning ways, or will the Oakland A's use the homefield to their advantage. It all starts at 8pm locally.

Scallop Festival
Bourne, Massachusetts held its annual Scallop Festival this weekend. It was features games and some arts and crafts. It cost $3 to get in and the Scallop Dinner cost $11.

My Review
This is a fairly small festival. This is certainly nothing like the Big E or Gilroys Garlic Festival. The festival is held in two large tents, one for the food and the other is for the arts and crafts.

If you have visited any of the larger festivals in New England, you'll be disappointed with this festival. However, at $3 its worth checking out some pretty cool Cape Cod arts and crafts. At least half of the artists are based on the cape. Also most artists have websites, such as the Cape Cod Traveler.

Fall Colors & North Bridge
I walked around Concord and Stow this afternoon taking pictures of various trees that I knew would be turning colors in a few weeks.

Here's an interesting piece of trivia: The Old North Bridge has 163 pieces of boards that make up the top of the bridge.
