Mass.gov Statisics
You can find out the 2007 website statistics for the Mass.gov website at the following URL:

http://www.mass.gov/Aitd/docs/WebMetrics/2007_03/office_of_the_state_auditor/GENERAL.html

From the Website:

The General Summary provides a quick overview of the general statistics for the entire web site during the report time frame. The most useful numbers are the 'Successful requests for pages' which represents pages viewed by users and 'Distinct Hosts Served' which is an approximation of the number of visitors.

I guess having Google index your entire website is not a good idea. Someone needs to teach the IT staff about using robot.txt file so some areas of the website are not accessible.

U-Haul Re-Use Center

This is a great idea by U-Haul which was announced yesterday:

U-Haul said Wednesday it is opening a re-use center in Somerville, Mass., for customers looking to ditch unwanted items before a move.

The facility on Mystic Valley Parkway will take in gently used household goods, furniture, sporting equipment, bikes and clothing that were formerly destined for the dump. Items placed in the area are available for customers, U-Haul employees, and outsiders to pick up at no cost. It will also have designated drop-off boxes for clothing and other donations to the Salvation Army and Goodwill.

Wayland Water Supply
Wayland Water Supply

Today is the 12th straight day with at least a trace of rain in Boston. It's also the 24th day with at least a trace of rain since June 1. And we have now been a full month without a day in Boston with more than 50% sunshine.

Yet, the Town of Wayland needs to remind homeowners that there is a Manadatory Water Conservation in effect with this sign. You can find this along Route 20 in Wayland.

According to their website:

Pursuant to Chapter 190 of the Town of Wayland By-Laws, the Board of Water Commissioners have declared a State of Water Supply Conservation and have restricted the use of outdoor watering to odd/even day outdoor watering and have further restricted the use of underground sprinklers only between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

You can get the latest weather on Wayland on the National Weather Service website, or on Google.com.

Download the PDF document describing the Town of Wayland water conservation.

Mass Pike Traffic

Sometimes it pays to take the back roads from Framingham to Lexington. Today was one of those mornings:

I feel sorry for all those that got stuck on the Mass Pike waiting to get onto 128. I have been there plenty of times and there's nothing you can do but sit and wait.
