Who is Norman Elms? Sorry but I really don't know.
When I was cleaning out my stuff in the basement I came across this document that someone fax to me when I was working at Delphi Internet. I don't recall why I received it. Was it was really worth saving for more than 10 years?
I searched all over the Internet and can't find the person described in this article from the Midessa Monitor. There's nothing about Norman Elms any place online.
This just goes to show that if your going to save something, you should take action on it immediately. If something is worth keeping at least put a little post-it note on why its worth saving.

Johnny Most was a radio broadcaster for the Boston Celtics from 1953-1990. He is remembered for his raspy voice and for getting emotional with the game. It was a total different game when Johnny Most made the call.
In 1987, Johnny Most and Glenn Ordway launched a promotion called "Dream Game." This was a special audio cassette that made you the hero of a Celtic game. The "Dream Game" is a five-minute radio broadcast that has you making the winning shot during a Celtic/Laker game. This was a very creative gift for any Boston Celtic fan.
I was very fortunate that my parents got me a "Dream Game" for my high school graduation, if you have Real Audio you can listen to the broadcast that was made for me. Also visit the Real Audio gallery to see all the other Real Audio clips that I made available.
You can also download the "DREAM GAME" brochure.

If you used the Macintosh back in 1990 you probably had Now Utilities as one of your tool set. This was a great software that made System 7.5 so much easy to use.
The Now Utilities package featured Now Menus, Now QuickFiler, Now Startup Manager, Now Super Boomerang, Now Folder Menus, Now Save, Now WYSIWYG Menus, Now Scrapbook and Now Profile.
If you never used Now Utilities, download the Quick Reference Guide to learn all the features of Now Utilities. Checkout how many were incorporated in the MacOS X.

In 1990 we took a trip to London and Switzerland. We visited several tourist sites in London including Westminster Abby. The funny thing was that we took a bus tour of London and got off at an unscheduled stop to see the Westminster Abby. The tour bus was driving by and describing the church but wasn't doing a scheduled stop, we got off the bus at the traffic light.
I enjoyed the history of the church and all the beautiful artwork in the church. If your planning a trip to London, you should add Westminster Abby to your sites to see. You may have also heard the name Westminster Abby from Rodger Miller's song called "England Swings."
You can now download the Westminster Abby brochure.
Westminster Abby is a historical church located on St. Margaret Street in the heart of London - very close to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

In 1997 Enron sent a letter to every household in California informing users that they can switch their electrical provider to Enron. Some people blame Enron for the power crisis that hit California in 1999 and 2000. Enron filed for bankruptcy in late 2001.
You can now Download the actual letter that California residents received.
Here's an excerpt of the letter:
We're Enron - America's largest wholesale provider of electricity and natural gas. While you may not have heard of us yet, we've been in the energy business for over 70 years, serving utilities in California and around the country. And now we'd like to bring our expertise directly to you, with an offer we think you'll appreciate.

There was some strong opposition about Al Gore was running for President in 2000. Some special interest groups thought Al Gore's policies was more of the same of Bill Clinton and wanted change.
In Northern California, some people were handing out single page brochures to get people to "learn the truth" about Al Gore. This didn't work as Al Gore easily carried California. I receive this brochure on my car at the Comp USA store on Blossom Hill Road.
Here's one quote from the handout:
Al Gore admits making at least 50 fund raising phone calls directly from the White House -- calls which generated more than $1,000,000 in contributions for the Democratic National Committee and the 19% Clinton-Gore re-election effort....

When I was cleaning up this week, I came across a flyer that I got when I was in college in 1991. This flyer was promoting a march on the Washington Mall to encorage Peace in the Middle East. This particular flyer was distributed by the local Boston charter. Download it and see what peace activists were saying in 1991 and how much is still true today.
Here's one quote from the flyer:
BUSH CHOSE DOUBLE STANDARDS! The U.S. barely supported a decade of sanctions that finally forced the Government of South Africa to negotiate with the African African National Congress. It took nine years of economic sanctions to transform racist Rhodesia into Zimbabwe. The world looks in disbelief as U.S. allies in this war continue to occupy conquered territories: Israel in the West Bank, Gaza, and Southern Lebanon, Syria in Lebanon, Turkey in Cyprus, Morocco in the Spanish Sahara.
