California Budget Issues

Wish I could just issue IOUs:

California's lawmakers failed to agree on a balanced budget by the start of its new fiscal year on Wednesday morning, clearing the way to suspend payments owed to the state's vendors and local agencies, who instead will get "IOU" notes promising payment.

I think creditors should reject the IOUs and demand payments and charge any late fees. Why should a government agency get any special treatment than regular citizens?

IOUs are not an option for United States Citizens and shouldn't be for the State of California.

Michael Jackson

Just heard on Imus in the Morning today:

According to Soundscan, 9 out of the top 10 songs are Michael Jackson songs.

Also:

Jackson places a record 25 songs on the 75-position Hot Digital Songs chart (21 solo hits and four with his siblings), smashing the mark of 14 charting titles established by David Cook in June 2008. Jackson's Halloween radio staple, "Thriller," moves 167,000, which is good for second place on the chart behind the 203,000 shifted by the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling."
